The Alberta land base is geographically diverse, with operated core areas in Sylvan Lake, Medicine River, Westerose, Strachan, and Sturgeon Lake. Core non-operated areas include Garrington/Westward Ho, Lochend, Pine Creek/Edson, and Kakwa.
NAL continues to focus on the Cardium play in central Alberta, working with our operating partner to deliver superior results from the extensive portfolio of drilling opportunities identified throughout the region. The Cardium is expected to continue as an area of considerable investment for NAL. With significant mineral rights earning agreements in place with major industry operators, drilling opportunities continue to be identified and added to NAL’s portfolio.
Pine Creek/Edson and Kakwa provide natural gas and liquids opportunities to the Company. Sturgeon Lake provides meaningful oil development for NAL, where a yearly drilling program is implemented to maintain NAL’s operated production facilities at capacity.
Westerose, Medicine River, Sylvan Lake, Garrington, Westward Ho, and Strachan provide additional upside opportunities in several oil and liquids rich gas bearing formations that can be high-graded through the use of NAL's extensive 3D seismic data coverage in the region.
