Senior Mineral Land Administrator – Calgary, AB

6-Month Contract Position

Reporting to the Team Lead, Land Contracts & Administration, you will manage lease administration for a geographical area. You will setup, maintain and administer: freehold and crown mineral tenure agreements; crown lease continuances; expiries; mineral lease assignment documentation; and transfers. You will analyze and verify land data including lease reviews of existing crown and freehold leases; verify working interest in lease records; and process vendor changes and updates. You will also be responsible for preparing and distributing reports and notices on land holdings, surrenders, land statistics, contractual or special obligations and ensuring all changes are accurately recorded. You will handle the processing of third party NOAs and provide mineral lease support to the A&D team for acquisitions and dispositions. You will also provide mentoring and training on lease administration procedures.   

To qualify for this position, you have a minimum of 10 years of Alberta and Saskatchewan mineral and freehold mineral lease administration experience; preferably are a member of CAPLA; and have completed a SAIT or MRU mineral lease certificate, diploma or equivalent. Experience managing freehold lessors, royalty and estate issues is required. You have a solid understanding of mineral lease processes and government crown and freehold land regulations. You are especially proficient using the Alberta and Saskatchewan land titles systems and CS Land; and have a working knowledge of geoSCOUT, EnerLink, AFE Navigator, EnergyLink, Word and Excel. 

You excel at prioritization, managing a heavy workload and effectively handling multiple tasks. You are self-motivated, driven to produce results from yourself and the team, proactively develop solutions to anticipated problems and have strong communication and organization skills.
