Joint Venture Representative/Engineer – Calgary, AB
Reporting to the Manager of Joint Venture Operations, you will build and maintain relationships with NAL’s partners and resolve any joint venture issues related to NAL-operated properties. You will support the execution of asset strategies including the identification and implementation of midstream opportunities and third-party processing. You will also create, negotiate and manage agreements detailing the joint ownership of facilities, and production and processing of NAL and third-party volumes.
To qualify for this position, you have a bachelor’s degree or technical diploma and eight to 12 years of oil and gas industry experience including at least five years of experience as a joint venture representative. Those with engineering or engineering technologist experience are preferred. A Canadian Association of Petroleum Production Accounting (CAPPA) certificate, a Joint Venture Accounting certificate and/or Petroleum Joint Venture Analyst (PJVA) certificate will be considered assets.
You have experience with PJVA model agreements, CAPL operating procedures, industry practices related to joint ventures and have successfully negotiated and closed joint venture deals. You have excellent computer skills and are especially proficient using CS Explorer, Qbyte, AFE Navigator, ProdView, FeeMax, geoSCOUT, and eDocs. You are organized, diplomatic, detail-oriented and have strong communication skills. You work well with all levels of an organization, external companies and partners. Exposure to facilities; production engineering; marketing; business development; acquisitions and divestitures; accounting; and finance are considered assets.
