Team Lead, Land Contracts and Administration – Calgary, AB

NAL’s Land Group is currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated Team Lead in Land Contracts and Administration to join the team.

Reporting to the Manager of Land, you will be responsible for contracts administration for Alberta as well as leading a small team of Land Administrators and Contracts Analysts.  This position will be part of an active group environment, responsible for working with our NAL team to maximize corporate assets.

Working closely with the entire Land department you will identify, draft and publish applicable processes, procedures and precedents to achieve accuracy, consistency and data integrity.  These include expiry/continuations, rentals, default notices, database entry and linking, drafting and reporting.  As the Contract Analyst for Alberta you will draft, review and interpret agreements such as Joint Operating, Farm-in, Farm-out, Pooling and Working Interest Clarification.  You will review and do curative work on existing agreements and process ancillary documents such as NOA’s, ROFR’s and ION’s.

To qualify for this position you are a CAPL / CAPLA member and have 10 years’ experience in contracts drafting.  Prior supervisory or management experience and a strong working knowledge of Lease Administration are specific requirements. You will also have effective working knowledge of CS Explorer, AccuMap/GeoSCOUT, AFE Navigator, Word, and Excel.  Results oriented, strong problem solving, organizational skills and proven time management skills are essential.
